Hail Damage Repair in Hawaiian Gardens
Hail doesn't fall here often, so when it does, the damage is easy to miss and easy to oversell. We climb up, photograph every bruise and cracked tile, explain what really needs fixing, and repair it the way we'd want our own roof done.
What hail does to a roof, and when to fix it
Hailstones leave marks that are hard to see from the driveway. On asphalt shingles they knock loose the granules that shield the asphalt from sun, leaving soft, dark spots that age fast. On clay and concrete tile they crack or chip pieces, and a cracked tile lets water reach the underlayment below. Skylights, vent caps and gutters take hits too.
Not every dent means a new roof. Often the right answer is replacing a handful of shingles or tiles and resealing what was disturbed. When damage is spread across most slopes, we'll tell you plainly and talk through roof replacement instead. Either way, you get an honest read on which one your roof needs.
We're a licensed roofing contractor, CSLB 1092407 (C-39), and we're insured, which matters when someone is working on top of your home.
What our hail damage repair covers
- Full roof walk and photo record
- We check every slope, the ridge and the valleys, then take photos of each hit. You keep the photos, and they stay useful if a claim comes up later.
- Shingle and tile replacement
- We replace bruised shingles and cracked tiles with matching material where it's still made. Each piece is fastened and set so it lies flat with the rows around it.
- Underlayment check under broken tile
- Where a tile cracked, we lift the surrounding pieces and look at the layer underneath. If water got in, we repair that layer before the tile goes back on.
- Vents, flashing and skylights
- Soft metal shows hail first. We replace dented vent caps and damaged flashing and check skylight domes for cracks.
- Gutters and downspouts
- Dented gutters can hold water and pull away from the fascia. We note them on the estimate and fix them with the roof, or cover them through our gutters service if they need replacing.
- Help with your insurance claim
- We work directly with your insurance adjuster. We share our photos and measurements with them and can meet them at your home. The adjuster decides coverage; we make sure they see the whole roof.
Signs hail may have damaged your roof
Granules where downspouts empty
Dark, sand-like specks collecting where your downspouts drain after a storm tell you the shingles shed part of their protective coating.
Dings on metal around the house
Look at the AC unit, mailbox, vent caps and car hood. If they show dents, your roof took the same hits.
Cracked or chipped tiles
Broken corners, hairline cracks or tile pieces in the yard or gutters are worth a closer look before the next rain.
A new ceiling stain weeks later
A water spot that appears long after the storm can trace back to a cracked tile or a bruise that finally gave way. Our roof leak repair page explains how we track those down.
Soft or shiny spots on shingles
Bruises feel spongy underfoot and look darker or shinier than the shingle around them.
What affects the cost of hail repair
Hail repair costs come down to how much of the roof was hit and what it's made of. We price from what we actually find on your roof, in writing, before any work starts. If insurance is involved, that estimate shows the adjuster exactly what's included.
How many slopes took hits
A few bruised shingles on one side is a small job. Damage across every slope can tip the answer toward replacement.
Your roofing material
Tile takes more care to remove and reset than shingles. Older or discontinued colors can take extra time to match.
What's under the surface
If water reached the underlayment or decking, those layers need repair too. We show you photos before adding anything.
Metal parts and gutters
Dented vents, flashing, skylights and gutters each add a line to the estimate when they need replacing.
Pitch and access
Steep roofs and two-story homes need more safety setup, which adds labor time.
How a hail repair job goes
- 1
Free roof inspection
Reach us by phone and we'll set a time to come out. We go up, mark and photograph the damage, and check the attic for moisture if we can get to it.
- 2
Free written estimate
You get a written estimate that lists each repair line by line, with photos. If you're filing a claim, the same paperwork can go straight to your adjuster.
- 3
Repair day
We cover plants, walkways and patio furniture, remove the damaged material and install the new. Smaller repairs often wrap up in a day; we'll tell you ahead of time if yours will take longer.
- 4
Tidy up and final look
Before we pack up, a magnetic roller goes over your lawn and driveway to catch loose nails, and storm debris comes out of the gutters. Then we walk you around the finished roof and share the after photos.

Hail damage questions
How do I know if the hail was big enough to hurt my roof?
Size alone doesn't tell you much, since older shingles and brittle tile break more easily. Check the AC unit and vent caps for dents and the downspouts for granules. If you see either, a free roof inspection will settle it.
Will my insurance cover hail damage?
Many homeowner policies cover hail, but it depends on your policy and deductible. We can't tell you what your insurer will pay. We can work directly with your claim, give your adjuster clear photos and measurements, and meet them on the roof.
How soon should I have my roof looked at?
Sooner is better. Policies often set a deadline for reporting storm damage, so check yours. Fresh damage is also easier to tie to a specific storm, and a cracked tile left alone can let water in at the next rain.
Can you match my existing shingles or tiles?
Usually, yes. We bring samples and compare them on your roof. If your exact product is no longer made, we'll show you the closest options and explain where a difference might be visible before you decide.
Do I need a whole new roof after hail?
Not always. Many hail jobs are repairs. If the damage is widespread or the roof was near the end of its life anyway, we'll explain why replacement makes more sense and put both options in writing.

Let us check your roof after the hail
We'll climb up so you don't have to and show you photos of everything we find. The inspection and the written estimate are both free.
